Cradled in the scenic Breede River Valley lies Wolseley, accessible through one of four scenic mountain passes with breathtaking views. In winter, the peaks are often covered with snow, giving the town a magical atmosphere. Also in Wolseley’s favour is its position on Route 62, the longest wine route in the world with its mountain passes, rivers, vineyards and fruit orchards. One unique feature of Wolseley is that it is situated on the watershed of two major river systems, the Berg and the Breede Rivers resulting in an abundance of water. This allows for the variety of farming in the valley and the delicious array of food and wine. Activities include hiking, fishing and game-viewing, and the town offers fantastic accommodation, wedding and conference venues.

• Outdoor Activities
Kluitjieskraal Mountain-Bike Trail has two routes of differing difficulty that pass through forests, over mountains and near waterfalls. Part of this route was used in the first stage of the Absa Cape Epic 2010. +27 (0)23 231 0063
