Willowmore, the gateway to the Baviaanskloof, is a worthwhile destination in its own right, offering the visitor numerous places of interest and exceptionally friendly people. The village offers freedom from the restrictions of time and is far enough off the beaten track that you might just stay a little longer. Willowmore, laid out on the farm Willow in 1862, is only 85 kilometres from Plettenberg Bay and 94 kilometres from Knysna, placing it in an enviable position for day trips to both holiday meccas, yet far enough from each to more than escape the throngs. Aasvoƫlberg - "Vulture Mountain", overlooking Willowmore, is one of the few places in the Karoo where coastal fynbos grows. The mountain offers panoramic views of the area and a wide variety of activities. A number of trails offer hikers the chance to explore the flora, fauna and birdlife of the mountain. The rugged terrain provides even the most experienced mountain biker with exciting and challenging trails. For the adrenalin junky, the mountain lends itself to spectacular paragliding and adventurous abseiling. There is also a 4x4 trail to the top of the mountain. Willowmore offers a variety of accommodation options. There are also a number of guest farms in the area
