CHOOSING YOUR WEDDING DRESS

When researching the correct shop, ask these questions:

• What is the price range of their dresses? You want to find a dress you can afford!
• Do you need an appointment?
• Do they have all the dresses available to browse and try? If not, do they have a catalogue and how do you go about trying on or order one from the catalogue.
• If you find the dress you like, what alterations can be done and can they give you an estimate or quote?
• Do they have discounts if you also order bridesmaids dress and do they come with alterations?
• Are there headpieces and/or veils available for the dresses?
• How can you pay? What deposit is required and when is the balance due?
• Are there cancellation and refund policies?

A decent shop should be able to answer all these questions. If you find your perfect wedding dress, ask them to hold it for a couple of days, go home and wait a day and then return and look again. If you still like the same dress – buy it! 
Especially use this strategy if someone else is helping you ‘choose’ and you are not sure.
It must be what you like first and foremost. You want to feel comfortable on the day. The sales person can then help you decide on a matching veil or headpiece as this is very dependent on the dress. Next you will be ready to choose your lingerie, jewellery and shoes to match. Most importantly, have fun doing it and make sure it is your decision.
