The Lodge is situated in the heart of the Little Karoo, nestled in the foothills of the Rooiberg Mountain Range, and extends over some 14 000 hectares of fynbos and succulent Karoo. Located in the Assegaay Nature Reserve between Ladismith and Calitzdorp just outside a quaint little village of VanWyksdorp.

ACCOMMODATION:

8 Luxury chalets are situated close to the watering hole, where you can view buck and birds flocking to drink. Our chalets have air conditioning and heating, a small kitchenette with coffee and tea bar and luxury linen. Relax on the veranda and experience the magnificent sunsets over the spectacular gorges and watering holes.

• 4 double chalets offering 2 en-suite bedrooms (sleeps 4)
• 4 single chalets offering 1 en-suite bedroom (sleeps 2)
• The Loft rooms offer overnight shelter or down to earth good accommodation for nature lovers. Perfect for larger groups, sports teams and school outings, at a relatively inexpensive rate. The Loft can accommodate a total of 50 guests where you have the choice of single rooms, double rooms and groups of 4 and 6 persons per room and boasts shared his/hers spacious bathrooms with baths and showers. There are also leisure /reading lounges. Bed linen and towels are provided.

ACTIVITIES:

We have a variety of nature-based activities, including a leisurely 4x4 route through the reserve. The astonishing floral kingdom, together with an abundance of wildlife and bird life.

RESTAURANT:

Our homely restaurant host is Belgian Chef Jean Vermeiren, he is a master in the kitchen and prepares the most delicious meals. He is a specialist and renowned for the best beef fillets and béarnaise sauce.... not to mention the unforgettable Irish coffee - a lip licking experience. Jean and Yolanda invite you to taste a bit of their ‘heaven’!
