The Ostrich feather palace, Foster`s Manor, was the only one to be established as a charming Bed & Breakfast. The Manor was declared a national monument in 1974 and was restored to its former glory. The Manor has 8 rooms, the character of which is a blend of the old and new. Every room has an en suite bathroom where one can relax in a French slipper bath. You can also enjoy a drink while watching television. A stay in the manor`s honeymoon suite will be the crowning glory of your honeymoon! The spacious interiors have been individually furnished with authentic collector's pieces from the early 1900s. All rooms are fitted with mini-bars, facilities for making coffee and tea, and TVs (available channels – SABC1, 2 and 3; M-Net). Guests can also roam the ground floor, which is decorated with photo reproductions of the feather boom era. Foster's Manor offers you a wide variety in traditional South African cuisine: dishes vary from Cape-Dutch-,Cape-Malay- and English Origin, but very often also a combination of historic culinary influences. In winter(June, July and August) breakfast is served in the breakfast room where you can enjoy your breakfast by the warmth of the old fire place. In summer (December, January andFebruary) breakfast can be served outside on the old verandah ("stoep") and one can enjoy the tranquil garden surroundings and fresh Karoo air.
