Bovlei Valley Retreat lies at the foot of the historic Bainskloof pass, Wellington in the Cape Winelands. Escape the big city and accommodation of Cape Town, and enjoy the peace and quiet of the beautiful town of Wellington. We are ideally located to explore the Western Cape. Only 45 minutes from Cape Town, 15 minutes from Paarl and 30 minutes from Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. ACCOMMODATION: Our accommodation offering consists of 5 newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms - three in converted stables and 2 in a converted farm cottage. We also offer a spacious, homely and well equipped self catering cottage, secluded between vineyards and the guava orchard. Available on a self catering or a bed and breakfast basis. Perfect for romantic getaways, or a breakaway with friends or the family. In summer months enjoy dining on the gracious Cape Dutch veranda at the manor house. In winter guests dine in front of the roaring log fire in our dining room. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with homemade muffins, pastries, breads, jams and preserves, fresh fruits, yoghurts and cereals as well as the traditional English cooked breakfast. Or of you prefer breakfast can be brought to the comfort of your room at the time of your choosing. Enjoy complementary afternoon tea by the swimming pool or on the veranda with freshly baked homemade goodies. The retreat offers light lunches, snacks and pool snacks, enjoy a glass of chilled rose over lunch on the stoop with views of the mountains. Enjoy complimentary wine tasting in the early evening as the sunsets and the mountains turn crimson, with Estate wines, olives and nibbles. Evening meals are on offer - prior booking is essential. Local and seasonal products are used - many of which come from the estates’ own vegetable, herb and fruit gardens. All dietary requirements are catered for.
