Many people dream of a romantic wedding on the beach – out in nature with the sound of the waves. If you are one of those people, stop dreaming and make it a reality. We have so many beautiful beaches in South Africa to do just that.Some positives:
- The obvious one is it is romantic and beautiful – especially on a perfect day.
- With so many other expenses to worry about on the day, the beach is a cheaper option.
- It is more casual and everyone is therefore more at ease.
- The ceremony and reception can both be in the same place.
- If you have children at your wedding, it is a great place for them to run and play freely.
- You can create the environment you want! Use rocks, flowers, shells to make an isle to walk down.
Some things to think about: - The weather may not be perfect, so make sure you are prepared for any weather or have a backup plan and location. Choose a spot on the beach that is slightly protected from wind.
- Find out about any rules the beach you choose may have around noise, lights, candles, curfew etc.
- If you want your guests to sit in chairs, remember they will sink into the sand. You could also seat them on cushions or blankets, but not everyone can sit on the ground, so think about your guests.
- Seagulls can be a pest. To limit this, make sure you keep your food covered.
- Choose somewhere with decent ablution facilities if you are spending an entire evening there.
